WHAT WE BELIEVE
THE NEW COVENANT
There is an Old Covenant and a New Covenant. Jesus established a New Covenant and forgave us of all our sins. The Old Covenant was given under Moses and the ten commandments are obsolete. Hebrews 8:13 ESV "In speaking of a new covenant, he makes the first one obsolete..." Click HERE for Pastor Brandon explaining more our belief!
THE NEW COMMANDMENT
Although the Old Covenant is now obsolete along with the ten commandments, we now have a new commandment to obey: love one another (which fulfills all 10 commandments). John 13:34 ESV "A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another." Click HERE for Pastor Brandon explaining more our belief!
Righteousness comes by faith in Christ alone. It cannot be obtained by our good or bad behavior (aka self-righteousness). Romans 4:5 ESV "And to the one who does not work but believes in him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is counted as righteousness..." Click HERE for Pastor Brandon explaining more our belief!
We are saved by grace through faith. We are no longer under the law of Moses, rather the law of love. Grace is the empowerment to love. Grace is the power to transform into the image of Christ (aka love). While we are completely forgiven, and have 100% right standing with Him, we are to learn to love one another to expand His kingdom here on earth. Click HERE for Pastor Brandon explaining more our belief!
WE ARE FORGIVEN!
We are forgiven of all our sin for all time! Our slate has been wiped clean because of what Jesus did on the cross! God took care of our sin problem through Jesus our Savior. 2 Corinthians 5:19 ESV "...in Christ God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them..." GOAL OF CHRISTIANITY
We believe the goal of Christianity is to know God and Jesus resulting in becoming more like Christ, rather than getting our ticket to heaven. John 17:3 ESV "And this is eternal life, that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent."
WOMEN IN MINISTRY
Jesus died to bring freedom. The heart of our Father is to empower and not oppress. Scripture can seem to contradict itself, but we have to take into account the context and audience of the day. Scripture shares women were prophets and elders. We are here to release women in ministry. Romans 16:1 ESV "I commend to you our sister Phoebe, a servant (*deaconess) of the church at Cenchreae."
DEFINITION OF LOVE
Now that we have one commandment to follow and live under grace to empower us, we have to define what love is. Jesus did that for us: John 15:12-13 ESV "This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends." We know we are loving not be being fluffy, rather because we put the best interests of others at the forefront.
END TIME BELIEFS
Jesus is coming back for a glorious bride, His church. Not for a defeated one. It takes faith to believe the church is getting healthier. It take zero faith to believe the world will burn by God's judgement and Christians can escape soon. We believe it is our responsibility to invest in future generations to expand the kingdom of God. We are still studying and believe it's possible the great tribulation recorded in Revelation and in Jesus' prophesies were in regard to the 70AD destruction of Jerusalem. This was an astonishingly horrific event. Jesus prophesied the temple destruction and end of the age in Matthew 24.
FREEDOM AND RULES
We believe obeying God is not about rules of right and wrong, if we can drink or not drink if we should smoke or not smoke. It’s about learning to love others in ways that bring glory to Christ. 1 Corinthians 10:23-24 ESV "'All things are lawful,' but not all things are helpful. 'All things are lawful,' but not all things build up. Let no one seek his own good, but the good of his neighbor."
GIFTS OF THE HOLY SPIRIT
We believe in the gifts of the Holy Spirit and that it doesn’t have to be attention seeking with people rolling on the ground or out of control. We believe being filled with the Holy Spirit means we are lead by the spirit motivated by love and the best interests of others. Galatians 5:22-23 ESV "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such there is no law."
THE BRIDE OF CHRIST: CHURCH
We believe in the gathering of the saints whether in the home or in a large sanctuary. Christ is the head of the church and the church is the bride of Christ. Out of hurt, many have aborted the church and believed a lie that it is not important to attend church.
We believe just like God created the institution of marriage, he also created the institution of church. We believe when we as believers begin to function in a healthy way, many will be drawn to the church and be equipped for effective ministry. John 13:35 ESV "By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another."
ROLE OF CHURCH
We believe the role of church is not to be the sole source of ministry, rather an encouraging and equipping gathering of the saints to launch you into the ministry! The ministry is all around us at home, work, neighborhoods, prisons, schools, and more! Ephesians 4:12 ESV "to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ."
We believe God created the institution of marriage to be the foundation of the family unit. Heal the home, heal the church, and heal the world. We believe healing for our country begins in the home.
We believe because Christ gave, we give. We give both our time and resources to support the church and expand the kingdom of God. The church is God's chosen institution to support ministries. We do not believe we are under a curse if we do not tithe. We believe as we are free to give, we give motivated by love, not a promise of blessing. We do believe in giving on a regular basis to both the church and ministry.
With giving, not only can you offer monetary support, but you can also donate your time, which is priceless.
Our mission is to see Jesus change the world through us, one kid at a time! Every volunteer and kid’s leader is trained with a security background check. Safety is our first priority and then fun with learning about the love of Jesus and the new covenant!
